As a sense of continuity from my old and now defunct blog, I've decided to write about some of my favorite looks I've done in the past while also being able to integrate photos that I can't put on my official portfolio since I just took them backstage. These are also the same photos on my Instagram (follow me!) and a bit more. For reference, I use a Fujifilm X-A2 body with a Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8 lens. Also, some of these photos were taken quite a while back so I do apologize in advance if there are some products that I no longer remember.
To kick off this series, let's start with Maika Rivera - actress (The Blood Sisters) and a part of the Girl Trends on It's Showtime! This look was the first time I did her makeup around this time last year, which also served as a trial session for the Star Magic Ball later on in the year. Maika requested for a look that would photograph well on the red carpet and last throughout the night. She was also particular about how light and fresh she wanted her look to be.
Maika has great skin so I went for a thin layer of a long-wearing foundation (MAC Nourishing Waterproof Pro Longwear Foundation) over primer and set with no-color powder (RCMA) - also keeping in mind that she will be on-stage for It's Showtime! with this look for the day. I defined her eyes just a bit and focused more on opening up her eyes with a pair of lush lashes and the no fail trick of highlighting the inner corners of the eyes. A bit of peachy pink blush on the apples of her cheeks for a youthful and blooming flush.
